Feeding Systems
Lanco had the task of providing 10 fastening clips for all 4 doors on the car (one model series) as quickly as possible using a feeding device. The customer’s robot picked up the 10 clips and mounted them accordingly on the inside of the doors. Lanco designed and produced 4 feeding systems.
Challenge
In the initial phase, the customers clip material, shape and size were not yet finalized. Throughout the course of the project the clips continued to be a variable. Lanco was tasked with providing a solution that would deliver the clips to the robot linearly without ultimately knowing the final design of the fed product.
Lanco Integrated Solution
Lanco has a dedicated department for part feeding. With their experience and material knowledge they conducted trials. The Lanco team was able to find a solution using two types of coatings before the final clip was provided. Once the customer sent the final sample clips, the predetermined coatings were tested straight away.
Outcome
With Lanco’s knowledge and decades of experience in part feeding they were able to meet their customers critical production timeline.
