WESTBROOK, Maine — Lanco, a precision automation and test systems company, today announced it has been awarded a significant new automation project by a major North American automotive OEM manufacturer. The project requires for Lanco to design and build a fully automated inspection and assembly system supporting a critical vehicle component line.

The system will combine robotics, automated inspection, and integrated testing to verify part quality and performance at production speed, reflecting the high-precision, high-reliability standards required in automotive manufacturing. The project also draws on Lanco’s Design for Automation (DfA) capabilities, in which Lanco engineers work upstream with customers to verify and validate part and process designs for automated manufacturability, helping improve quality, throughput, and cost outcomes before a system is ever built.
